The upside of traveling

Reading Littles' "comment" on my last blog entry reminded me of one of the benefits of traveling on business: Littles and Hubby will get plenty of quality daddy-daughter time together! I've talked to them a few times today, and it sounds like they're having a blast. I think the time alone together will be really good for both of them.

And it's sunny and in the low 70's here in Seattle, and I could see Mount Rainier this morning on my drive in to the office. Life is -- well, not great, but not so bad either.

Hello!

I’m a fellow blogger and came across your blog by doing a yahoo search on breastfeeding / specifically weaning from the pump. I’m a nursing mom who works full time. I have been planning on “weaning from the pump” when my daughter (who is 11 months) turns one – but I think I’m starting to chicken out. I’m worried that I may “dry up” if I start pumping and I really don’t want the nursing relationship to end.

When did you completely wean from the pump? Are you still nursing in the mornings and evenings?

This is uncharted territory for me (and my friends and family) . . .

I see that you recently moved to TX. Are you near DFW? I live about 30 miles north of Dallas. Small world. :-)

Its going to be ok, promise. Mateo has had ups and downs with Andres' travel and also with daycare. In the end they are resilient and are not permanently tortured. :)

Plus it is great that Mia and Richard will get so much one on one time. Enjoy the break, you will come to look forward to it as Mia gets more and more active and optionated. I promise! LOL.

Hey cheree,

My last day of pumping was May 22, which was just after Mia's 11 month birthday. (Well, with the exception of this past week, when I was traveling on business -- I'm about to write a post on that.)

I do still nurse mornings/evenings, and sometimes during the day if Mia is around and I feel like it.

But our nursing relationship is definitely changing. I often feel like Mia is nursing more for the cuddles than for the milk. I still have milk, so I know that's not the issue. My little baby is just growing up. Hard to come to terms with sometimes, but it's the truth :)

If you look back at my previous blog entries, I did quite a few posts around the time when I weaned from the pump.

Good luck!
